Case Study: Digital Product Strategy and Enterprise Adoption with Deutsche Bank

Enterprise Adoption · End-to-End Product Development · Knowledge Management

Context
A global financial institution with thousands of employees lacked a scalable, systematized approach to knowledge sharing. Subject matter experts were fielding repetitive inquiries, documentation was obsolete before it could be utilized, and teams were losing significant time searching for information that already existed within the organization.

I identified the problem, built the business case, and proposed the solution. I then led the initiative from concept to full-scale adoption over two years navigating compliance requirements and organizational change inside a highly regulated environment.

What I Did
I pioneered and led the end-to-end development of a peer-to-peer knowledge platform, the first of its kind at the organization.

As the Product Lead, I worked directly with internal developers who were shared across multiple projects and had limited availability. I wrote user stories and requirements, managed the product backlog, ran sprint ceremonies, and made continuous prioritization decisions to maximize what a constrained team could deliver. I started with a basic MVP, validated it with early users, and iterated toward full-scale deployment balancing speed with the compliance and regulatory requirements of a global financial institution.

To drive SME participation, I designed hands-on workshops to lower barriers to contribution and partnered with managers to establish accountability structures. To secure compliance approval and executive sign-off, I worked across five senior sponsors, ran a structured pilot to demonstrate early results, and built trust through sustained relationship management across senior leadership and technology teams.

The platform was launched to 4,500 global users and I personally trained and onboarded over 100 subject matter experts.

Outcome
20% increase in user engagement. 15% reduction in development rework.

The platform fundamentally changed how people worked. Subject matter experts who had never shared knowledge formally became active, consistent contributors. Teams that had historically operated in silos began collaborating across functions. A culture of knowledge concentration, a common issue across large financial institutions, began to shift.

The product became an internal reference model for digital transformation at the organization, informing how subsequent initiatives approached adoption strategy, behavioral change, and people-centered design.

This project demonstrates what is possible when a strong idea is paired with rigorous execution and organizational commitment to change delivered inside one of the most regulated environments in global financial services.
