Case Study 4: Regulatory-driven transformation with Deutsche Bank
Regulatory-Driven Transformation · Change Management · Agile Adoption
Context
Following an ECB audit that flagged culture, leadership behavior, and employee engagement as critical risk areas, a global financial institution needed to demonstrate meaningful change to regulators. The response was a five-stream people transformation program spanning workforce culture, leadership accountability, and ways of working impacting 2,000+ employees.
What I Did
I was handed coordination of all five workstreams simultaneously with no dedicated resources and while my own role was being restructured due to budget cuts.
Behind five executive-sponsored workstreams, I translated vision into execution by managing stakeholder alignment across functions, running program governance, reporting progress to executive sponsors weekly. I designed and delivered Agile training and worked with leadership to model new behaviors.
For the Agile transformation, I stepped in directly with the teams ready to embrace change. I designed training content from scratch and adapted existing frameworks to fit the culture delivering both group workshops and 1-1 coaching.
I kept five complex programs moving in parallel inside a highly political, resource-constrained environment.
Outcome
10% increase in staff engagement across 2,000+ employees. Agile ways of working took hold in the teams I worked with including colleagues still reference the shift years later. I delivered results across five regulatory-driven programs simultaneously without resources.
